General Dietary Advice

 

Most of us have been exposed to healthy eating messages about healthier food choices, so it is often not what you are eating, but how much and why you choose to eat what you do that is creating health challenges.  Until the how much and why is dealt with, you may find it difficult to make long-term dietary changes.  For this reason diets don’t work - diets only deal with what are you eating rather than the reasons why your eating habits are as they are.

 

Understanding and changing the way you eat, involves behaviour modification principles.  Our Dietitian has been trained in Health Coaching techniques by Health Coaching Australia.  These techniques involve the use of evidence-based psychological, counselling and coaching principles to assist people to achieve long-term behaviour change.

 

During your consultation we will determine and focus on your specific and individual needs which includes measuring your readiness and desire to make dietary and lifestyle changes.  Together we will then come up with a plan of how you will start making significant changes to your eating that can be maintained long-term in order for you to achieve life-long results.
